This 1967 Hagstrom Concord bass is in very good condition. This bass shows signs of play wear and age throughout including some heavy lacquer checking, some small dings and finish wear throughout, and finish wear on the back of the neck. There is a repaired spot on the forearm area that is very solid and one small piece of binding is missing on the treble side of the neck at the first fret. There is some sinkage on the top of the body under the bridge which is pretty common on these models. The neck is very straight and the truss rod is operational. This bass features a thin but very rounded neck profile that is very comfortable and easy to play. The fret wire is in good condition with plenty of life left. This bass has been set up with light gauge flat wound strings and it plays exceptional up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low smooth action and very good intonation. This bass does not buzz or fret out - it plays terrific! The electronics are fully original and are in perfect operating order. Both pickups in this bass sound stellar and have a strong output. The neck pickup is definitely a stand out and, in my opinion, sounds quite incredible. This old bass delivers some seriously impressive vintage hollowbody thump and would make an outstanding studio instrument. This Hagström is housed in a Washburn hard shell case that fits well. Included is some paperwork from the previous owner Hugh Pieron. Apparently he played hot and cool jazz! There is a photo of Hugh with the bass and it’s just an overall cool addition to this old Swedish built thumper. If you are looking for a vintage hollowbody bass for the studio or the stage, this Concord is pretty incredible!
