This 2012 Gibson SG Special 70s Tribute is in excellent condition. This guitar still has the factory protective film on the pickguard which can be removed by its new owner. There are some light signs of play wear throughout including one dime sized finish ding on the back lower side. A set of Dunlop strap locks have been installed . Overall, this guitar is extremely clean and doesn’t appear to have been played much at all. This SG has a medium chunky C shaped neck profile with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck is very comfortable in the hand and has the classic Gibson feel. The fret wire on this guitar shows no signs of play wear and is in excellent condition. This SG plays great up and down the fingerboard with smooth action and great intonation. The electronics are all original, haven’t been tampered with and are in perfect operating order. The Gibson mini-humbuckers sound superb. These pickups are very well balanced together and offer a very articulate, dynamic tonal experience with plenty of power and cut. This guitar is exceptionally nasty sounding with a bit of drive but cleans up nicely with the volume control - an excellent guitar for rock, rhythm and blues. This guitar is housed in a very nice SKB hard shell case for safe travels and weighs 6lb 15oz. These 70s Tribute models are excellent American made Gibson guitars and the Satin Silverburst examples are getting harder to come by.
