2007 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Reissue Les Paul Special Single Cut Cherry

Excellent condition featuring single cutaway mahogany body, two Gibson P-90 pickups with black plastic pickup covers, two volume controls and two tone controls with black plastic bonnet knobs, three way pickup selector switch with black plastic switch ring and amber plastic switch tip, multi-ply black and white plastic pickguard, wraparound stud tailpiece, set mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot inlays starting at the third fret, bone nut, Gibson open book peghead shape, black peghead face with pearl Gibson logo, multi-ply black and white plastic bell shaped truss rod cover, three on a plate Kluson Deluxe tuning machines with white plastic oval shaped tuning buttons, ink stamped serial number on the back of the peghead, single ply black plastic electronics and switch cavity cover plates, nickel plated metal hardware, cherry finish and original Gibson hard shell case.

This 2007 Gibson Custom Shop 1960 Reissue Les Paul Special is in excellent condition. This guitar does show some play wear including some small dings and scratches on the body and some light pick scratches on the pickguard (see photos). Overall this guitar is in great shape for being 16 years old. The paper COA is missing in action. This Les Paul Special has chunky late 50s style neck profile that feels excellent and is very comfortable and easy to play. This neck profile is very different than the 60s slim taper - not quite as fat as an R8 profile but feels very similar to an R9. The fret wire is in terrific condition and doesn’t show any major divots or signs of heavy play wear (see photos). This guitar plays exceptional up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low smooth action and great intonation. The rosewood fingerboard on this instrument is also very attractive and has nice grain. The original electronics are in perfect working order and have not been tampered with. The P-90 pickups both sound exceptional and are very well balanced, delivering articulate, punchy tones that excel with a clean or dirty amplifier. This is an all around fantastic sounding and playing Les Paul Special. This instrument is housed in its original hard shell case and weighs 8lb 10oz.
