This guitar weighs 10lb.

This 1971 Gibson Les Paul Custom is in excellent vintage cosmetic condition showing only minor signs of play wear throughout. This instrument is very tidy. The original waffle back tuners have been replaced with a set of gold Grover Rotomatic units. The bridge is a later replacement Nashville tune-o-matic. The nut is a later brass replacement. The electronics control cavity cover plate has a small hole in it (see photos) and the wiring harness is a Martin Six String Customs Holy Grail Les Paul drop in with CTS 500 1324 pots and NOS Sprague caps. The neck profile on this Custom is typical of the era with medium shoulders and a flatter center and it tapers slightly larger towards the 12th fret with a 1 11/16” nut width. This neck is exceptionally comfortable in the hand and just feels like it could be played for long periods of time without any fatigue. The fretboard has been professionally refretted (by Gruhn Guitars) with medium jumbo frets and the fingerboard is in fantastic condition. The frets show virtually no signs of play wear and have a lifetime of use left in them. This Les Paul plays outstanding up and down the fingerboard with effortless action and great intonation. The Original stickered PAT# T-Top pickups sound ridiculously good and have a very articulate yet woody tone that excels with a dirty or clean amplifier. I’m a huge fan of Les Paul Customs and I will say that this example sounds absolutely brilliant in every way. This Custom is housed in its original Victoria hard shell case that is in great condition with all the latches working properly. This instrument has seen a few changes in its 51 years but has been well cared for, has a great vibe and is a top notch player. This Les Paul Custom is ready to play right out of the case and will provide its new owner with glorious tones for years to come. A gem of a guitar.
