This 1969 Gibson EB-0 is in excellent condition. This bass shows some signs of play wear including some finish checking, small scratches and dings, some buckle wear on the back of the body, some pitting of the chrome metal hardware, one chip in the pickguard and one replaced strap button. This instrument is all original and has no cracks, breaks or repairs. The neck profile on this bass is that of a chunky rounded shape that feels superb and is incredibly fun and easy to play. The neck is in great shape and the truss rod is in excellent operating order. The original frets have lots of life left and do not show any major divots or signs of heavy play wear. This bass plays great up and down the rosewood fingerboard with low action and good intonation. The electronics in this bass are all original, are in perfect working order and have not been tampered with in any way. All solder joints are untouched. There is a visible pot code of 1376923 that dates this component to the 23rd week of 1969. The original “Mudbucker” pickup has a strong output and sounds absolutely wonderful. This bass delivers a huge, woody vintage thump. This EB-0 is housed in its original soft shell case that is not in great shape but is present. If you are looking for a totally intact, all original EB-0 with no stories, this example is as good as I’ve seen, plus it plays and sounds outstanding to boot! This bass weighs 7lb 1oz.
