This 1961 Fender Bassman is in excellent condition. This amp shows signs of play wear and age throughout (see photos) but is overall very clean and is free of any major cosmetic issues. This amp has been expertly serviced at Hime Amplification in Nashville, Tennessee. They replaced a few leaky electrolytic caps, biased the amp, cleaned all the pots and added a three prong power cable for safe operation. This amp is in perfect operating order, needs nothing and is ready to go! All three transformers are original and date to the 42nd, 28th and 46th week of 1961. All of the potentiometers are original. The amp is very clean under the hood and everything that you want to see when looking inside one of these amps is present - no funny business. This Bassman features a tube rectifier instead of the solid state rectifier found in 1962 and later examples. This amp is 50 watts and sounds fantastic. It has a nice barking clean tone until the volume is increased to around 6 o’clock and then this amp saturates into thick, complex, vintage overdriven bliss that cleans up nicely with your guitar's volume control. This amplifier also works quite well as a pedal platform and pairs nicely with a bass guitar as well. If you are looking for an all original blonde Bassman head, this is a prime example of the model that is ready to be utilized with your favorite cabinet.
